Hong Kong's eduaction system

I think all of us experienced the old education system in Hong Kong. A public examation in F.5 called HKCEE and a public examation in F.7 called A-level. In order to go to the good universitied in Hong Kong. You must need to work very hard on both of the examations which are very stressful for most of the students.

However, If you didn't get a good result in these examations, there're different choices for you to continuous your studies. One of the choice is (like us), go to study associate degree or high diploma. But the opportunities for going to universities directly after graduate, it's really small. Morover, we need to pay for the expensive school fee and have a very RUSH schedule. (We have to learn 12 different subjects in without 6 months) Sometimes, I think it's quite ridiculous but there are students who really can get an A in all subjects. So, our college will never think this is a problem.

Furthermore, I know there are some parents of the students who are now experiencing the new education system are worry about their children. They think that the Hong Kong governemnt are using their children as a tool to experiment the new education system. This is which I saw on the TV news. They rather send their children for oversea studies instead of let their children to stay in Hong Kong. They are lacking confidence with the new Hong Kong education system.

Nevertheless, we can't have any judgement of the new education system yet. Is it fail or not? Let see the performance of the first group of students who experience the new eduaction system  in 2013!

  1. a~haha....it is very brave of you to say EXACTLY what you thought of the system and our "ridiculous" situation in the college. There's not so many who would speak out loud about it, although I am aware that there's some others in SPACE that have similar opinions as you.

hmm...the new system, NSS. yes, even my parents are doubtful about the worth of my younger brother's studies here in Hong Kong under this new system. But I didn't know that the Hong Kong parents have lost confidence in the government's little play too! hahah~ that's news for me.

but yes, we have yet to see, whether the new system's got anything right for our new generation.there's no telling how "worthwhile" this new exam, the HKDSE is when it comes to both qualifications and skills, not just the issue of University places.

  2. Another problem is that, even paying the expensive tutorial fee, we, associate programme students, are not validated by many companies. seems that it's meaningless if we cannot get into the university.
